IOSH Managing Safely - Level 3
This IOSH course is for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It is deseigned to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible programme covers all the main health and safety issues and includes a session on environmental issues as well.
The aim of the course is to give managers sufficient knowledge and tools to tackle health and safety issues within their working environment, for which they have the ultimate managerial responsibility. It brings home the just why health and safety is such an essential part of their job. Managing Safely gets people thinking about practical side of health and safety and how when used correctly can improve the working environment for the people that they are managing.
Course Contents: The course content includes, health and safety legislation, understanding why accidents occur,communication relating to health and safety, common hazards and controlling risk. Their are eight modules:
- Introducing Managing Safely
- Investigating accidents and incidents
- Protecting our environment
- Identifying hazards
- Assessing risks
- Measuring performance
- Controlling risks
- Understanding your responsibilities
Minimum Teaching Time: 24 hours
Assessment Format: The course concludes with both written and practical assessments, successful candidates will be awarded an IOSH certificate in managing Safely, which is valid for three years
