Content:
Duties & Responsibilities of first aiders
Identification & Management of casualties
Control of emergency
Treating young children and the elderly.
Treatment of shock, bleeding and resuscitation.
Treatment of injuries to bone, muscle and joints.
Treatment of burns and scalds
Treatment of minor injuries
Control of first aid box and materials.
Record keeping of sickness, injuries and treatment.
Concerns regarding hepatitis and immunodeficiency virus.
Course Outcome
On completing this course candidates will be able to:
Act as First Aiders, in accordance with the First Aid at Work Regulations.
Minimum Teaching Time: Minimum 24 hours
Assessment Format: Multi Choice paper and General Assessment
Designed for: This course is suitable, where an employer’s assessment for its First Aid needs identifies, that a First Aider is required under the requirements of the first aid at work regulations. This certificate is valid for three years
