IPAF Demonstrator Course

International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Demonstrator training course for anyone who needs to deliver hand-over demonstrations on scissor lifts, telescopic and articulating booms, vertical platforms, van mounted platforms, truck mounted platforms and telehandlers with integrated controls. This is not an instructor's course.

Content

  • Responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Safety procedures for demonstrator.
  • The correct and safe method of operating the specific machine.
  • The correct emergency procedures, capacities and limitations to ensure safe operation.
  • Selection and use of fall protection equipment covering as a minimum anchorage points in platforms.
  • Duties of the demonstrator.

Outcomes

This course concentrates upon the skills required by demonstrators of work platforms to ensure a safe hand over operation. On successful completion delegates are registered and certificated with the awarding body International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). The certificate is valid for five years.

Details

This course is for anyone who needs to deliver hand-over demonstrations of powered access scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, trailer mounted booms lifts and aerial work platforms. Anyone attending this course must have at least 12 months experience as an operator of MEWPS, and hold a current IPAF operator qualification or a recognised equivalent.

Duration: One day programme.
Assessment Format: Multiple choice question paper, written question paper and practical assessment.
